Outcall: the therapist comes to the room you chose

Outcall is the older trade word for a simple arrangement: the therapist travels, and the guest stays where he is. Every booking with this house works that way. There is no studio, no reception, no waiting room and no address that a guest is ever given to go to. The visit happens in the room you are already staying in, with your own things around you and a door you know how to lock.

Why it suits a seasoned traveller

Guests who remember arranging an evening of this kind decades ago often remember going somewhere for it: a doorway, a bell, a staircase in a street they did not know. Outcall removes that part entirely. You do not dress to go out, find a second address after dinner or walk back through unfamiliar streets afterwards. The evening begins with a knock on your own door and ends with it closing behind her, and you are already where you will sleep.

What it covers

A hotel room of any size, a suite, a serviced apartment or a rented flat anywhere in central Amsterdam: the canal ring, the Jordaan, De Pijp, Oud-Zuid, the Zuidas and the rest of the centre. From your confirmation to her knock is forty to sixty minutes, the same in every central district and at every hour. Hotels near Schiphol are also possible, arranged separately, with the journey time out there agreed before anything else is fixed.

What it asks of you

Not much. Give the address and, for a hotel, the room number once you have it. For an apartment, write down how to get in, since older buildings often hide their upper floors behind a second door. Warm the room an hour ahead, put a lamp on and clear a chair for her coat. She brings her own towels and oil and takes them away with her.

What it costs
